Tim Kern enjoyed a 33+ years career at Pfizer. Tim began his career in Pharmaceutical Sales in April 1987 after graduating from Kutztown University.

Tim’s original territory was in Buck’s County, PA covering all assigned hospitals and healthcare providers. After 4 years Tim was promoted to a Hospital Representative territory assigned to Temple University, University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson, and Hahnemann. After 2 successful years covering Philadelphia Hospitals, Tim was promoted to Assistant to the Regional Manager for the Northeast Region working out of the Clifton, NJ distribution center. In 1993 Tim was promoted to District Manager in the Midwest Region and was assigned the Milwaukee District where he was responsible for 11 representatives in the State of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. In 1998 Tim was promoted to Pfizer’s New York Headquarters Training Department as a Director, Management Training where his primary responsibilities were training new and existing Pharmaceutical Sales District Managers. It was in this role when Tim discovered his passion for improving colleague performance through capabilities development. Tim took on a series of different roles within the Training Department including leading representative training, managed markets, Specialty Markets and Field Based Medical. In 2005 Tim was promoted to Vice President, United States Pharmaceuticals Training. In this role Tim was responsible for leading the entire Field Training organization. During this time, the Pfizer’s Training organization was inducted to the Training Magazine Hall of Fame. In 2012 The Training Department began part of Global Commercial Operations and Tim was assigned to the GCO North America Training Lead. Tim held this position until his retirement in September of 2020.

Tim is most proud of the high performing teams he was able to lead as well as the massive training requirements that were successfully completed as a result of the many acquisitions Pfizer completed during his tenure including. Tim is a long-time member of LTEN and has served on the editorial board and is also a graduate of CMR Institute.

Tim resides in Stony Point, New York with his wife Amy and their therapy yellow Labrador Chip and Plott Hound rescue, Suzy. Tim and Amy have 2 adult children, Casey and Luke who both are employed by Regeneron.

Tim enjoys Standardbred Horseracing, fishing and volunteers at a local food pantry.
