CMR Institute is saddened by the loss of Jeff Mackie, PhD, Director Emeritus of CMR Institute who passed away on March 19, 2021. Dr. Mackie was a long-time advocate of the Institute and tirelessly supported our mission of providing innovative learning strategies and resources that advance knowledge, drive performance and enhance patient care.
Dr. Mackie served as a member of CMR’s Advisory Board before retiring from GlaxoSmithKline. Upon his retirement, he served as a member and Chairman of CMR’s Curriculum Committee, bringing a valued perspective on the learning and development needs of the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Mackie also served on CMR Institute’s Board of Directors from 1994 until 2012 including as Chairman from 2004 until 2012. His steadfast leadership and his many contributions to our organization will always be remembered and appreciated.
Dr. Mackie was a frequent speaker and motivating humorist. He was also a coach and mentor to countless people throughout his life. He was known to carry business cards with him that he shared with the words he lived his life by: “I am “Response-Able” for My Life and Livelihood. I do whatever it takes to get 110% from both.” Mission accomplished Dr. Mackie. Rest in peace knowing that YOU made a difference to all who knew you.
