CMR Institute offers courses to satisfy the continuing education requirements mandated by the DC Board of Pharmacy that require licensing and continuing education for all pharmaceutical representatives in Washington, D.C.
Renewal Information
All pharmaceutical sales personnel who engage in the practice of pharmaceutical detailing in the District of Columbia must comply every two years. The renewal requirement is 15 CEUs which must include 2 credits of mandatory continuing education on cultural competency or specialized clinical training focusing on patients or clients who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender nonconforming, queer, or question their sexual orientation or gender identity and expression (“LGBTQ”). In addition, the licensure requirements also dictate that 10% of the CEUs must reflect the public health priorities of the District as determined and published every 5 years or less frequently as deemed appropriate by the District. The Department of Consumer and Business Services Insurance Regulation has established rules for the administration of the pharmaceutical representative licensing program created by 2021 Senate Bill 763 in Oregon.
Pre-License and Renewal
CMR Institute is an approved provider for both the requirements for initial licensure (PLE or initial or pre-licensing education) and license renewal (CE or continuing education). License applicants for initial licensure or applicants for renewal are responsible for understanding the requirements to satisfy initial licensure (10 credits) and ongoing licensure (5 credits annually).
The applicant must submit their own PLE completions via email (DFR.PharmaSalesRep@dcbs.oregon.gov). Applicants may download their completion certificates from CMR Institute’s learning management system and submit them via email.
CMR Institute will submit all CE completions for annual renewal requirements to Oregon through Oregon’s approved provider portal on or about the last Friday of every month.
