The Importance of Ethics and Compliance

What is Compliance Training?

Every organization is expected to operate within a set of laws and regulations. This compliance allows an organization to operate safely and efficiently and ensures that the workplace follow these laws and regulations. Compliance training helps in understanding the legal boundaries within which an organization operates. It serves to educate employees on the laws and regulations pertaining to their industry or specific job function. CMR Institute’s new suite of eModules will ensure that your team understands and complies to these regulations.

Early US legislation laid the groundwork for the establishment of the FDA and its mission—to prevent misbranding and commerce in adulterated, unsafe, or ineffective products. A process of licensing medicines began to take shape. It is important for your team to understand how these early laws helped shape the present regulatory environment and the laws regulating and influencing the life science industry in the US. Trends in recent US legislation have focused on increasing transparency in promotional activities of life science companies, protecting patient privacy, and finding a balance between improving patient safety and speeding access to innovative medical products.

Ethics in Life Science Marketing and Advertising

This process of licensing medicines also prompted the first regulations regarding the promotion of products into becoming law. This suite of modules describes the US regulations regarding marketing and advertising; the ways in which the FDA seeks to ensure that advertising is accurate, fair, and balanced; and the guidelines on consumer advertising issued by PhRMA for its members. It is important for sales professionals to understand how these early laws helped shape the present regulatory environment and the laws regulating and influencing the life science industry in the US.

Regulatory and Ethical Compliance in the Life Science Industry

This suite of modules will also cover another very important topic—ethics in the life science industry.  Life science companies and representatives have ethical responsibilities beyond compliant advertising and promotional activities. It is imperative that sales professionals understand the ethical responsibilities and guidelines for interactions with healthcare professionals. There are also ethical responsibilities involved with drug safety monitoring, pricing, and conducting clinical trials. This updated suite of modules covers everything your team needs to know pertaining to these topics.

CMR Institute’s suite of ethical and compliance training eModules will provide your team with an understanding of the risks of noncompliance with regulatory and ethical mandates.
