Ivo Abraham, PhD, MS, RN

Professor of Pharmacy, Medicine and Clinical Translational Sciences
University of Arizona

A nurse by profession and a quantitative scientist by trade, Ivo Abraham is Professor of Pharmacy, Medicine, and Clinical Translational Sciences at the University of Arizona, where he is affiliated with the Center for Health Outcomes and PharmacoEconomic Research and the Arizona Cancer Center.

He brings 40+ years of expertise at the interface of research, clinical care, economics, and policy – working worldwide with universities, government agencies, corporations, and public and private health care payors and policy makers.

He has served as a Subject Matter Expert on several training modules of the CMR Institute, including in the areas of oncology; precision medicine; outcomes and effectiveness; access to and value of pharmaceutical care; and biosimilars (a topic he is passionate about and has been actively involved in since the early approvals in Europe almost 20 years ago). He is the Quantitative Methods Editor of JAMA Dermatology and the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Medical Economics.

Gary Rice, BS, MS, MBA, CSP

Gary Rice is an accomplished Senior Executive, Advisor, and Thought Leader with more than 40 years of success across the pharmaceutical industry. His broad areas of expertise include healthcare, sales management, operations management, business development, clinical, and program management.

Most recently, Gary joined MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. in October 2022 as Senior Advisor Specialty and Clinical Strategy. Gary joined MedImpact Direct, LLC, a subsidiary of MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. in May 2020 as the General Manager & Specialty Solutions where he led a mail and specialty network and specialty pharmacy services and programs.

Gary holds a leadership position as the CEO and President of Go Fish Ventures, LLC where he helps clients anticipate and strategically address the rapidly evolving challenges facing healthcare service or product companies and creates innovative strategies to support the client’s goals and objectives in hopes of making healthcare more efficient and effective.

Prior to consulting, Gary held various positions at Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy from June 2011 until May 2019. He was the Executive Vice President of Operations from November 2016 through May 2019. He was responsible for Diplomat’s core operational management. This builds on his previous role as Senior Vice President of Clinical, Education, and Human Resources, in which he was responsible for Diplomat’s industry-leading clinical support services; education for patients and clients; and Human Resources department.

Gary graduated with a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences in Boston. He also earned his Master of Science in pharmacy from the University of Houston with a concurrent ASHP Accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program and completed his Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He is also a Board-Certified Specialty Pharmacist.
