CMR is looking for a new Director of Learning Strategy!

 

Job Summary: Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director of Learning Strategy will innovate and direct all aspects of curriculum development including the design, development, and implementation of related curriculum and product strategies to support present and future growth. The director will effectively lead a team of instructional designers, writers, and technologists to achieve departmental and organizational goals while ensuring the integrity, quality, and relevance of all content. The director will also ensure the facilitation of product and curriculum development goals to align with the Institute’s strategic plans and will develop, implement, and integrate business goals within the practice area in alignment with corporate strategy.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Enhance and evolve the organization’s enterprise learning strategy to align with business and market needs. Convert business strategies into actionable learning and development plans for the organization.
  • Perform as well as provide direction and guidance to oversee planning and development of existing and new product offerings including product development, research, course writing, SME review, exam preparation, course accreditation, and content revisions to reflect relevant, up-to-date information.
  • Develop and manage financial budget for the learning strategies department; prepare cost estimates and plans.
  • Identify, recruit, and contract/negotiate with subject matter experts and writers to develop relevant course content revise course materials, and write new content for courses and other resources such as learning tools, blogs, whitepapers, and other content in coordination with experts; review, edit and proofread curriculum developed for use in CMR Institute and custom client projects.
  • Perform personnel administration for learning strategies team including recruiting, training, and performance management to achieve targeted goals and results.
  • Lead a team in strategizing, planning, and executing learning and development programs. Mentor and coach team members, fostering growth and enhancing their skills and capabilities.
  • Monitor and identify current life sciences and healthcare trends to create, refresh, or expand curriculum product lines; make recommendations and implement accordingly.
  • Monitor trends in learning and development to recommend innovative changes to content design and/or development of new products to stay in front of competition and meet market demand.
  • Actively participate in client-related calls to support sales efforts; provide directional content support, product recommendations to meet desired outcomes, and mapping of content to organizational competencies to support client needs.
  • Manage project plans including timelines/ deadlines, contingencies, and status reports for all curriculum projects; ensure all partners are current with role specifications and plans and meet established timelines.
  • Manage and/or write blogs, whitepapers, webinars, workshops, updates, etc.
  • Lead the research, search, implementation, and management of content creation, content management, and delivery platforms required for the accomplishment of strategic priorities.
  • Regularly collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, sharing insights with leadership to inform the continuous enhancement of the learning and development strategy. Implement changes to learning programs based on data to ensure they meet the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Collaborate with operational areas to ensure seamless delivery of products/services per customer expectations; Collaborate within team and with operational areas to maintain key procedural documentation on data storage and usage, content development and management, publishing, and learning delivery.
  • Represent the Institute professionally in industry contacts, community, and business development; Capitalize on opportunities to educate audiences about CMR.
  • Using instructional design technology, adult learning principles, and design theories, Design new and enhance existing content templates, integrating interactivity and engaging application exercises to improve the learning experience and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Curriculum, Training, Instructional Design, or Product Development experience.
  • Experience leading strategic Learning and Development initiatives.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience creating assets for e-learning.
  • Knowledge of technology-enhanced learning environments, tools, services, and pedagogies.
  • Working knowledge of publishing platforms and content management systems.
  • Demonstrated fluency using recognized e-learning technical standards.
  • Expertise in learning management systems and other learning technologies.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience required.
  • Experience in a B2B service environment and preferred.
  • AI and AI technology experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and self-direction, experience working in complex situations preferred.
  • Experience in the Life Science industry strongly preferred

Other Qualifications/ Competencies:

  • The successful candidate will be a dynamic, experienced individual with a strong track record of team leadership and experience in learning and instructional technology in the life sciences. Candidate must have the proven ability to effectively manage complex projects, influence stakeholders with and without authority, effectively network across the organization and communicate with senior leaders all within a fast-moving, challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Occasional travel required.
