Students may access the site wherever Internet access is available: in their homes, libraries, local colleges, etc. Important Notice: Students must have a signed Policies & Honor Code Form The following are questions most frequently asked by CMR Institute students: Is my computer fast enough to take a test and finish in time? Q: Is my computer fast enough to take a test and finish in time? A: Your Internet Service Provider controls the speed at which your test questions are delivered to your screen. To test your Internet speed, click on PRACTICE ASSESSMENT. This test is available to each student in order to gain confidence in using our testing format. If you are dissatisfied with your speed, consider using another computer or waiting until your Internet Service Provider has less traffic. Q: Can I use my wireless connection to take an exam? A: You must confirm that the quality level of your wireless network connection to your computer is "HIGH" or better. A lesser rating does not meet the minimum requirements and you should not attempt your exam using this connection. Q: Is my browser compatible with the testing site? A: The testing site is optimized for use with Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher. You can check the version of browser you have by launching your Internet Explorer browser, clicking Help on the menu bar, and then clicking About Internet Explorer. A window will appear displaying the version you are using. If you are using your company laptop, you must comply with your company's rules. If you have incompatibility issues, contact your company's technical support. CMR Institute does not recommend that students manipulate their company laptops for any reason without special permission from the sponsoring company. If you are using your own computer and are having browser incompatibility issues, you may download the most recent version of Internet Explorer at www.microsoft.com/downloads . Q: What are the computer system requirements? A: Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher (Note: nothing is ever written to the hard drive, but session cookies must be enabled on the browser.); Internet access; Adobe Reader to view reports (free download is available at www.censeoonline.com ); If you use popup blockers enable www.censeonline.com and www.censeo-online.com as allowed sites; Minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600. A: Click on this link or log on to https://www.cmrinstitute.org/exam.php (be sure to type this address, in full, in the address or location line of your Internet browser; a search engine will not find this address). You will be prompted to log in using your ID and PIN. Click on My Assessments and then click on START next to the exam title you wish to complete. Q: How do I navigate through the test? A: Click in the circle next to the answer you choose. Be sure that it is marked, and then click NEXT at the bottom right of the test screen to get to the next question. Q: Can I mark questions and review them later? A: You may mark questions for review by clicking on the appropriate button on the test screen. At the end of the exam, click on FINISH AND REVIEW and the system will show a list of questions you marked to review. You may review questions until you run out of time or until you are ready to click on FINISH. Q: What happens if I lose my Internet connection? A: Each student is given the opportunity to re-enter an unfinished examination, assuming there is time left in the exam. The exam must be re-entered immediately. The clock will not pause. To re-enter, log back on to the site and click on "continue" next to the exam to pick up where you left off. If there are technical difficulties, the student may file an appeal with a Student Advisor by calling 800-328-2615 during business hours, ET. The Curriculum Department will determine within 2 business days if the student will be given the opportunity to attempt the entire exam again or if the student must accept the score as reported. A: You may practice only within a SAMPLE test. Q: Can I use my course material during my test? A: No, the Policies & Honor Code states that no outside assistance of any kind (printed , audio, electronic material or any individuals) will be allowed during an exam. A: Yes, all tests are timed. The time limit is listed with each test description which can be viewed by clicking on the examination name on the My Assessments screen. If the sponsoring company does not pay the $50 charge for retakes, the student is responsible for this fee, and it must be paid before the exam will be made available. A: Upon completion of the exam, the student is given a numerical score. The student may print a score report after the examination is completed. Examination reports are also compiled and mailed to students monthly.
