Foundation Courses

There are four foundation courses in the CMR Institute Curriculum, all of which must be completed for CMR® Certification:

Human Body, Pathology, and Treatment provides a general overview of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and treatment approaches for all systems of the body.

Introduction to Pharmacology provides a broad understanding of basic pharmacology. It describes how drugs act on the body, the effects they produce, and the techniques by which drugs are administered to treat disease.

Disease Management provides an introduction to the concept of disease management, key elements of disease management systems, and the impact disease management systems are having on the pharmaceutical industry.

The Managed Healthcare Market provides an overview of managed healthcare in the United States. It discusses developments in U.S. healthcare that have led to the implementation of managed care, describes the components of various types of managed care delivery systems, and discusses key concepts for reducing costs and improving quality within managed care organizations.
