First UMDNJ Alliance Graduate - Dewayne Brumlow, CMR
Wyeth, Class of 2000

"We are proud to announce our first graduate from the Master of Science in Health Systems Program collaboratively offered by CMR Institute and UMDNJ-School of Health Related Professions: Dewayne Brumlow, CMR. For his graduate project, Dewayne designed an Immunization Compliance and Recall System for Physician Offices. The program has wide applicability for physician offices and includes a staff training program as well as considerations for budgetary management of an immunization program," Dr. Ann Tucker, Associate Dean, UMDNJ-SHRP.

Dewayne acknowledges, "Continuous learning is a core value for me and has played a critical role in the advancement of my professional career. CMR Institute and UMDNJ-SHRP have played a vital role in my learning and development, allowing me to customize my educational needs to fit my personal interests and professional goals. The university's professors, CMR's program managers, Wyeth's Career Advancement Department and my Area Business Director have all been extremely helpful and supportive. I fully endorse these programs for their content, value, and flexibility."

Dr. Tucker adds, "Dewayne was able to successfully complete this program while balancing his career and home life with the academic rigors that go with graduate education. Congratulations Dewayne!"

CMR Institute joins Dr. Tucker in congratulating Dewayne and in encouraging others' participation in the MS programs. In keeping with the mission of the Institute we support our students and alumni who pursue life-long learning to advance their knowledge, and in turn, enhance healthcare.

CMR Institute and UMDNJ Alliance

Since 2002, CMR Institute and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) School of Health Related Professions (SHRP) have had an educational alliance offering CMR Institute students the opportunity to earn a master's degree in one of two programs: Master of Science in Health Systems and Master of Science in Health Sciences. CMR Institute students who have completed a minimum of 26 CMR Institute credits may transfer up to 15 American Council on Education (ACE) recommended graduate credits earned from the CMR® Certification Program towards their master's degree, leaving only four or five courses and a graduate project to complete with UMDNJ. This alliance offers many benefits including:

• Advance standing in one of two UMDNJ online master's degrees.

• Ability to take all UMDNJ courses over the Internet.

• Coursework and course projects that can be applied directly to work
  environment.

• In-state tuition, even if you do not live in New Jersey.

• A degree from the largest fully accredited health sciences university
  of its kind nationwide.

Students may take UMDNJ courses in two ways: either as a fully enrolled degree candidate of UMDNJ or as a non-matriculant (application for enrollment not yet complete). Students, who have already been accepted into the UMDNJ-SHRP program, may begin registering for Summer and Fall courses in April. Students who are non-matriculants may register for Summer courses beginning in April, and Fall courses beginning in July. For specific registration dates or other information, please visit www.shrp.umdnj.edu and select Registrar.

Call today for a transcript evaluation to determine the number of credits you have completed that may be eligible for transfer to these Master's Programs.
