CMR Institute’s Specialty Certificates Add Value to the Rep-Physician Relationship
Streamlined content builds targeted expertise in key specialty areas
ROANOKE, Va. (March 31, 2010): For medical representatives looking to maintain competitiveness in an evolving healthcare delivery environment, CMR Institute’s specialty certificate programs provide targeted, specialized training that enhances credibility and proficiency with physicians to support optimal patient outcomes.
Training in key specialty areas – Diabetes, Disease Management, Managed Healthcare, Management Development, and Value-Centric Selling – equips medical representatives with targeted knowledge to focus their expertise and encourage a more collaborative value-based relationship with physicians.
“Interactions between representatives and physicians are much more limited today, and we know that representatives must be able to deliver critical information in a quicker and sharper way,” said Michelle O’Connor, Senior Vice President, Learning Strategy and Innovation for CMR Institute. “Now more than ever, the focus for representatives is on improving customer focus, and representatives need to be more educated and efficient with the information they bring to the table. CMR specialty certificates provide targeted education to make them a knowledgeable and credible resource to healthcare providers.”
CMR Institute’s specialty certificates were designed to meet the emerging professional development needs of the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries. CMR Institute research shows that professionals are seeking more flexible, on-demand access to training, and shorter, targeted learning experiences that allow them to better balance personal and professional responsibilities.
Completion of each specialty certificate takes less than 30 hours, due to streamlined information and online delivery that gives representatives an efficient learning experience and the ability to quickly and effectively implement their competency in conversations with physicians.
“Equipping representatives with the most effective training keeps them credible and adaptive to the changes in the healthcare industry,” O’Connor says, “These certificate programs were designed to offer practical, relevant education delivered in a format that is respectful of representatives’ busy schedules and ultimately benefits the provider and the patient.”
In addition to the five key areas, CMR Institute also works with biopharmaceutical companies to design custom specialty certificates to address additional areas of expertise, drawing from CMR Institute’s renowned curriculum and subject matter expertise. CMR Institute also offers 4C (Core Competencies, Capabilities, and Credibility), a specialty certificate program that provides crucial baseline knowledge that has been identified by physician research as being highly valued and necessary to demonstrate commitment to improving patient care. Upon successful completion of the program, participants earn a Pharmaceutical Representative Certificate of Professional Competency.
The expanded specialty certificate curriculum will be available in May 2010.
