Who Should Take This DVD-ROM Course:
Sales representatives and others who interact with healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, cardiologists, surgeons, physician assistants, nurses and nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and others who treat patients with cardiovascular (CV) disorders, and those whose products significantly influence the function of the CV system.
Career Applications/Benefits:
Approximately half of all Americans develop some form of heart disease. Thus, many healthcare professionals are likely to be involved in some aspect of the prevention and treatment of CV disease. This preceptorship will give you a unique opportunity to experience real world clinical presentations of varius types of cardiovascular disease that affect physicians and their practices. It provides representatives with a better understanding of the medications and products that influence clinicians’ therapeutic decisions and will increase a representative’s effectiveness through clinical understanding of the products that will benefit a clinician’s patient.
DVD-ROM Course Description:
This course explores basic concepts of the physiology of the heart and treatment of the cardiovascular system. The preceptorship includes a series of case studies comprised of unscripted dialogues between clinicians and patients and follows the physician as he evaluates and treats his patients. It illustrates how clinicians utilize questioning techniques, physical exam findings, symptoms, and practice guidelines to study, diagnose and treat each patient. Each case study also includes an overview of the physician/patient interaction and a discussion of factors that influenced the clinician’s decisions in each of the scenarios.
