Building upon her 22+ years of leadership with CMR Institute, Michelle O’Connor has a deep understanding of current and emerging learning and development needs of the life science industry.
Dedicated to collaborative dialogue and strategic partnerships, Michelle’s guidance has uniquely positioned CMR Institute to provide innovative learning solutions that address the industry’s training needs along with the evolving needs of their customers and the marketplace. By bringing together the unique insights from CMR’s extensive network of subject matter experts, she continues to foster and build deep connections between the learning and development profession and their customers’ goals. Michelle has been instrumental in the evolution and enhancement of CMR’s training resources, from e-learning and mobile delivery of its educational content to improving learning outcomes for client organizations.
Her commitment to client success paired with her focus on future educational needs of the life science industry has made CMR Institute a leading learning and development company during one of healthcare’s most dynamic era.
Michelle received an M.A. in education from Virginia Tech in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Training and Development. In addition, Michelle stays connected to the larger healthcare community through her thought leadership at conferences and industry events, her active membership in the Healthcare Business Women’s Association (HBA), as well as her board participation for CMR Institute and other organizations including the Life Sciences Trainers and Educators Network (LTEN), the Virginia Tech Center for Instructional Technology Solutions in Industry and Education and Junior Achievement.
With deep experience in and passion for client solution development and support, sales and marketing, Sharon leads the Institute’s account management and client development teams. She enjoys working alongside clients to find innovative and effective learning solutions that achieve their business and training objectives as well as provide a rich learning experience for their learners. In addition to her more than ten years with CMR Institute, Sharon brings a decade of marketing experience with Coca-Cola and five years in education, licensure, and certification management to assist CMR in meeting our mission. Promoted to Vice President in 2016, Sharon also serves as a corporate officer to the CMR Institute Board of Directors. She is a member of LTEN (Life Sciences Trainers and Educators Network), ATD (Association for Talent Development), HBA (Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association), and the eLearning Guild. Sharon received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia. In her spare time, Sharon may be found spending time with her family, traveling, baking, gardening, or reading a good book.
With more than 10 years of experience at CMR Institute, Britney Conrad has a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical and MD&D industries and the role of learning, instructional design, and training in today’s successful sales teams. She leads CMR’s Learning Solutions team, as well as content development and design projects. She is dedicated to creating partnerships with clients and is always willing to go the extra mile to support learning within an organization. She enjoys helping clients create their own custom programs using CMR’s unique mix of offerings and resources. In addition, Britney is a corporate officer the CMR Institute Board of Directors, serving as Secretary. She is also a member of the Life Sciences Trainers and Educators Network (LTEN) Editorial Board.
In 2012, Brittney joined the CMR Institute team as a student/client advisor. Brittney’s deep dedication and commitment to customer service ensures each student has a great learning experience. She is especially skilled at helping students understand their options for educational pathways while helping to navigate their success in their organizations and in the field. Brittney also serves on the account management team and provides clients with the varying levels of reporting and tracking needed to analyze ROI on CMR Institute training programs. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
Pat Farrell joined CMR Institute in January of 2016. Her role at CMR Institute enables her to provide Life Science companies with our professional eLearning training programs that improves employee performance, while keeping them fully engaged in their jobs. What Pat loves best about her job is knowing that CMR training provides critical and timely knowledge which ultimately helps enhance the patient experience. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family as well as reading, hiking, and boating.
Nancy joined CMR Institute in September of 2016. In her role, Nancy is assisting Life Sciences companies with their educational needs by providing them with strategic sales solutions. This leads them to powerful connections with their customers, which in turn increases revenue and market share. She believes that having the best educated sales force and leaders within an organization is an important way to positively impact patient care for millions of lives. When not working, Nancy enjoys family time, travelling, reading and walking.
Since joining the CMR team in 2009, Laura has held growing roles within both the student services and learning solutions teams. She currently works on the account management team and serves as the Manager of Client Solutions. She enjoys collaborating with clients to design and implement innovative learning programs that achieve both the company’s and the individual learners’ educational goals, enabling them both to better serve their clients and have a positive impact on healthcare. Laura also enjoys spending time with family, running, and attending Virginia Tech sporting events.
Carrie Garrett is the newest member of the CMR team and brings over a decade of instructional design and eLearning development experience. She has a passion for creating engaging, memorable, and impactful learning experiences that help learners exceed in their careers and companies meet their performance goals. In her spare time, Carrie loves spending time with her husband and three children.
Bonnie Clark joined CMR Institute in December of 1991, bringing 10 years of experience in office administration and customer service. Over the duration of her career, Bonnie has held various positions with expanding opportunities in different areas of the organization including student services and marketing. Bonnie joined the learning solutions team in 2001 and continues to acquire new skills and capabilities in curriculum design. Bonnie is heavily involved in the content revision process and enjoys preparing new content for delivery to CMR Institute’s clients and students. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, weekend trips with sisters/nieces, cross-stitching, shooting baskets, traveling, and quiet time on her porch enjoying nature’s sights and sounds.
Sam Harrison, a recent graduate of Radford University, joined CMR Institute in February of 2017. His role at CMR Institute enables him to explore his passion for web development, new technologies, and creating the most impactful learning experience for CMR Institute’s clients and students. Outside of work, he enjoys playing music with friends, watching/playing sports, cooking, and enjoying anything outdoors.
Barb Rasmus joined CMR Institute in 2003, with more than 20 years of experience as a specialist in training design and development. For most of those years, her work focused on various entities within the healthcare industry. As a member of CMR’s learning solutions team, Barbara gets great satisfaction from participating in the creation of training resources that help life science professionals succeed in a rapidly changing marketplace. Outside of CMR, she enjoy activities such as yoga, golf, long walks, and spending time with friends and family.
With more than a decade of instructional design and eLearning development experience, Chris brings a passion for creating highly interactive learning experiences to CMR Institute. Chris believes learning experiences should be relevant, engaging and most of all, FUN for every learner. When not a work, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife Bethany and their two children, Avery and Luke. Chris also enjoys being outdoors and competing in Spartan races.
In September of 2016 Janis Lovell joined CMR Institute as the Marketing Specialist. She brings a passion for creating and implementing successful marketing strategies, along with experience in the healthcare industry. In her spare time she enjoys fly fishing, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying the great outdoors.
Lauren Harbert has been with CMR for nearly six years, serving as finance manager prior to being promoted in 2015 to Comptroller. Lauren is also a corporate officer of the CMR Institute Board of Directors, serving as Treasurer since 2012. She brings to CMR the financial knowledge gained from her experience as an auditor with KPMG, where she worked on organizations of all types and sizes. She enjoys working for CMR, a not-for-profit, 501(C)(3) organization because she is given the opportunity to work closely with client and student services as well as supporting other areas of operations, including Human Resources. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children at their home on Smith Mountain Lake.
Katrina Cokendolpher began working at CMR Institute in May 2014. After graduating with a degree in accounting and finance she was employed by several small companies with her most recent experience at a non-profit. She brings her accounting and finance experience, along with her non-profit experience, to her role as Business Operations Coordinator where she enjoys learning and working in the Life Sciences Industry, assisting clients with tracking, and reporting student activity. In her free time she enjoys practicing yoga and spending time with her two boys.
