Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to describe the functions and physiologic processes associated with the structures of the male and female reproductive systems. They will be able to distinguish among common approaches used to diagnose reproductive disorders, characterize significant reproductive system disorders, and identify appropriate treatment approaches--including the mechanisms by which various drug treatments produce their effects.
Who Should Take This Course
Sales representatives and managers who interact with clinicians who treat disorders of the male and female reproductive systems, including gynecologists, obstetricians, reproductive endocrinologists, urologists, primary care physicians, physician assistants, lab technicians, and nurses and nurse practitioners; and those who would benefit from a knowledge of this important body system.
Career Applications/Benefits
This course will benefit those working for pharmaceutical companies that develop or market products targeted toward disorders of the reproductive systems. Information provided in this course will allow individuals to discuss key features and benefits of pharmaceutical therapies with physicians, pharmacists, and others who treat patients who have reproductive disorders. In addition, because of the importance of the reproductive system, clinicians must often consider the impact of other diseases and treatments on reproductive function and organs. Therefore, this course also has relevance for those whose products may influence reproductive function and organs or are used to treat conditions that are often seen concurrently with disorders of the reproductive system.
