Instructional Design Philosophy

CMR Institute uses a team of experienced instructional designers and writers who apply solid instructional design strategies to enhance the adult learning experience and provide maximum effectiveness.

  • Each course or module begins with a list of specific learning objectives. These objectives are developed to accurately represent the skills and knowledge required by the target audience.
  • Content is developed to support learners' acquisition of the stated objectives. The content is presented using a systematic approach and incorporates complementary learning elements such as charts, graphs, illustrations, and figures. Our e-learning content includes additional interactive elements such as animations, interactive progress checks, and audio-enhanced glossaries.
  • Practice and feedback opportunities are provided throughout each course or module to reinforce key information and help students evaluate their understanding of the material.
  • Full CMR courses include a pretest and a posttest. The pretest assesses students’ existing knowledge of the subject matter and directs their attention to areas where study is needed. The posttest helps students evaluate their understanding of the major course concepts and assists them in identifying areas where more review is needed before the final course examination is taken.

Effective learning experiences result from instructional materials that are applicable, interesting, easy to understand, and easy to use. These four characteristics provide the foundation of all CMR Institute course materials.
